Zachry Group (San Antonio, Tex.; www.zachrygroup.com) has acquired Chicago-based Ambitech Engineering Corp., a global, full-service provider of engineering, design, project management, procurement and construction management services.

Ambitech, established in 1982, has 750 employees in multiple locations across the U.S., as well as in India, the Philippines and the Middle East. The primary industry segments served by Ambitech include refining, petrochemicals, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology and consumer products.

“I am very excited about this opportunity, because the combined capabilities of Zachry and Ambitech will create a unique, highly-capable organization, which will benefit and generate significant value for our employees and our customers,” said Allan Koenig, founder and CEO of Ambitech Engineering Corp.

The acquisition of Ambitech adds extensive resources, capabilities and market reach to Zachry Group. The addition of the highly skilled, experienced Ambitech team further enhances Zachry Group’s ability to provide high-quality, full-service support to customers through Zachry’s principal business lines, including engineering, construction, maintenance, turnarounds and specialty services across North America.

“We are always looking for opportunities to grow and improve our capabilities, for the benefit of our employees and customers,” said John B. Zachry, Chairman and CEO of Zachry Group. “To acquire a high-performing and well-regarded company, with such outstanding talent and experience, will be a game-changer for us. It has everything to do with enhancing our service offerings in an expanded marketplace and creating more value for our customers.”
