| By Mary Bailey

Vestolit GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of Mexichem S.A.B. de C.V. (Tlalnepantla, Mexico; www.mexichem.com), has started up the specialty polyvinyl chloride (PVC) capacity expansion that was first announced in May 2015 at the Mexichem Marl plant in Germany. Initial product runs have been completed and the test analysis has confirmed all quality standards and product specifications have been met.

This additional expansion investment establishes the largest production site for specialty PVC worldwide. With this expansion, Mexichem has a new production line at the Marl, Germany site with an additional drying capacity of 40,000 metric tons (m.t.) of paste-PVC.
