UOP to offer Raschig Super-Pak structured packing equipment

| By Scott Jenkins

In an agreement with Raschig GmbH (Ludwigshafen, Germany) announced Sept. 16, UOP (Des Plaines, Ill.) has acquired exclusive rights to offer Super-Pak equipment for all UOP process units worldwide, as well as non-exclusive rights to offer the equipment for non-UOP units. The agreement extends a previous relationship between UOP and Raschig in which UOP obtained rights to offer Raschig Super Rings. Super-Pak is a structured packing technology for distillation, absorber, stripper and regenerator columns in the refining, petrochemical and gas processing industries. The equipment features a systematic sequence of sinusoidal waves above and below a metal sheet that is designed to increase product throughput and improve separation efficiency.
