Two independent valves that share the same membrane

| By Chemical Engineering

The Robolux multiport valve integrates two independently operated valves beneath a single membrane. This patented design saves volume and dead space, and therefore makes it possible to design more compact layouts, even for complex processes. Two shut-off valves within one housing replace the T-pieces and welds that were normally required. The patented valve shape also minimizes the number of valves and membranes that are needed. Robolux block solutions are said to be ideal for use in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, as well as food and beverages, because they are easy to clean and can be completely emptied. Housings can be made of stainless steel, PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) or polypropylene. Operating pressures of up to 10 bars are possible. — Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, Ingelfingen, Germany
