This transmitter allows temperature monitoring over the Internet

| By Chemical Engineering

The iTCX transmitter is designed to allow users to monitor temperature from two independent thermocouple channels over an Ethernet network or the Internet with no special software aside from a Web browser. Serving active Web pages, the transmitter displays realtime readings, temperature charts or log data in standard data formats for use in a spreadsheet or data acquisition program, such as Excel or Visual Basic, the company says. The iTCX can accommodate thermocouples of several different types and can handle measurement of temperatures up to 3,308ËšF. In addition, the transmitter can display and chart absolute temperature measurements in two locations, as well as differential measurements between the two locations. — Newport Electronics Inc., Santa Ana, Calif.
