This solenoid valve operator is removable under pressure

| By Chemical Engineering

Manual operators are often included on solenoid valves to enable functional checking during startup and commissioning. These operators are then removed prior to the plant being handed over to operations personnel to prevent potential trips or unplanned shutdown. The new removable-under-pressure manual operator can be removed and reinstalled while the pipework is pressurized, with no loss of fluid or pressure. The operator is available for the company’s 327 Series of solenoid valves, which are 3/2 pilot valves used extensively for control valve and emergency shutdown valve piloting. — ASCO Controls B.V., Scherpenzeel, the Netherlands
