Manual operators are often included on solenoid valves to enable functional checking during startup and commissioning. These operators are then removed prior to the plant being handed over to operations personnel to prevent potential trips or unplanned shutdown. The new removable-under-pressure manual operator can be removed and reinstalled while the pipework is pressurized, with no loss of fluid or pressure.
