Newly certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), ultrasonic LPU-2428 sensors (photo) use microprocessor control to internally perform volume, flow, and totalization calculations, and feature internal temperature compensation. They provide a 1- to 25-ft detection range on liquids and a 1- to 10-ft detection range on solids. The LPU-2428 sensors feature a polyvinylidene-difluoride (PVDF) transducer housing and a chemical-resistant sensor housing, and can be installed using standard 2-in. national pipe taper (NPT) fittings. They operate in temperatures from – 40 to 140°F and deliver 2.5-mm resolution with an accuracy of ± 0.25% of the detected range. The sensors are certified for use in Class I, Div. 1, Groups C and D, and Class I, Zone 0, Group IIB hazardous locations. — Automation Products Group, Inc., Logan, Utah
