A new range of compact, lightweight motorized valves has been introduced for applications where electric actuation is required. The valves are quiet in use, and can be operated by a 24-V d.c. power supply, or by voltages between 24–48 and 110–220 V a.c. (50 or 60 Hz). The low-power design requires just 12 W, compared with 40–50 W for similar products, says the company. With a fast response time of less than 2 s per cycle (open and close), they do not require a current to maintain position. The valves handle fluid temperatures up to 90°C and are rated to IP 65, making them suitable for outdoor use without an enclosure. — ASCO Controls B.V., Scherpenzeel, the Netherlands
