These mixing and melting kettles are rated for full vacuum

| By Chemical Engineering

Mixing and melting kettles from this company are rated for full vacuum and for temperatures of 250ËšF. The 185-gal, hemispherical vessels are jacketed for 15-psi steam. A submerged steam calandria is also supplied for additional heating. Both the vessels and jackets are constructed in accordance with ASME VIII, Div. 1 guidelines for building pressure vessels. A two-wing anchor that is driven by an explosion-proof motor agitates the kettles. All product-wetted surfaces tested with dye penetrant to confirm the absence of cracks and crevices. The kettles are equipped with special mechanical seals, level sensors, actuated diaphragm discharge valves, electrical controls and alarm panels. — Charles Ross & Son Co., Hauppauge, N.Y.
