Technip (Paris, France; www.technip.com) has been awarded a substantial (in the €250- to €500-million range) lump-sum, turnkey contract by Duslo a.s. to develop the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a new ammonia production unit in the existing fertilizer complex located in Sal’a, Slovakia.
Based on Haldor Topsoe’s technology, the new unit will have a capacity of 1,600 metric tons per day (m.t./d) of ammonia. It will incorporate the most advanced engineering and technological solutions for minimum energy consumption and reduction of pollutants emissions.
Technip’s operating center in Rome, Italy, will execute the contract. The plant is scheduled for startup at the beginning of 2018.
