Integrated flange assemblies make these tanks easy to access
This company offers the Integrally Molded Flanged Outlet (IMFO) system for its full-drain polyethylene (PE) tanks, in which the flange is molded into the tank during manufacturing, rather than being introduced post-production as an insert. IMFO fittings are constructed in the same material as the tank, creating a homogenous unit, and since the fitting is integrated with the tank itself, there is no added stress on the lower sidewall. The one-piece IMFO construction means that the flange can be installed below the knuckle radius at the bottom of the tank’s sidewall. The entire flange system is external to the tank, providing easier access to hardware than with metallic inserts. The sloped-bottom design is recommended for processes that handle heavier materials, including fats, oils, greases or sludge. With this tank configuration, there is no need for confined-space entry for cleaning activities, since the sloped-bottom tank can be cleaned from the top via a manway, or with a spray ball.
