Saint-Gobain acquires International Cellulose Corp.

| By Mary Bailey

Saint-Gobain S.A. (Courbevoie, France) has completed the acquisition of International Cellulose Corp. (ICC), a leading manufacturer of specialty insulation in the United States, including spray-on thermal, fireproofing and acoustic finish systems for the U.S. non-residential market. ICC employs approximately 50 employees at its manufacturing site in Houston, Texas, and generated revenues of around $30 million in 2023. ICC’s insulation solutions are manufactured high levels of sequestered carbon. This acquisition allows Saint-Gobain to complement its offer for building envelope protection including the solutions brought by the acquisition of GCP such as MONOKOTE (fireproofing), Ice & Water Shield (waterproofing membranes for roofing), and Perm-A-Barrier (vapor barriers for siding). The acquisition of ICC is in line with Saint-Gobain’s “Grow & Impact” strategy aiming to both strengthen the Group’s leadership and accelerate its growth by enriching its range of solutions for light and sustainable construction.
