The new Ethernet/IP WirelessHART gateway is fully integrated into Logix from Rockwell, making it the company’s default WirelessHART gateway. However, other process control systems that support communication via Ethernet/IP can also be connected to the new gateway. The high level of integration into Ethernet/IP means that the WirelessHART stations only need to be assigned an address according to a specific principle using a HART descriptor. The gateway’s detailed and useful diagnostic functions remain the same, regardless of whether the connection is established via Modbus or EtherNet/IP.
