OSIsoft (San Leandro, Calif.; www.osisoft.com) is incorporating advanced low latency Complex Event Processing (CEP) technology from Microsft Corp. (Redmond, Wash.; www.microsoft.com) into its PI System. Complex event processing platform from Microsoft captures data from system-level, application-level and external events and correlates them into patterns, to provide customers with better insight. The close relationship between OSIsoft and Microsoft will make possible early adoption of the new CEP technology when it is made available next year.
“OSIsoft will be using the complex event processing technology from Microsoft to expand the functionalities of the PI infrastructure,” according to Dr. J. Patrick Kennedy, founder and CEO of OSIsoft, Inc. “When this technology platform is offered from Microsoft next year, we can offer PI users streaming complex analytics with enhanced performance and scalability to solve problems in new domains such as Smart Grid, energy management, and sustainability.”
Incorporation of this complex event processing technology from Microsoft into the PI System will enable OSIsoft to deliver enhanced streaming analytical capabilities.
