Romaco broadens their range of pharmaceutical packaging equipment with three new products that will be displayed on the show floor. The Noack T4 blister-packaging line, the Macofar VF24 aseptic liquid filler and the Siebler HM 1/230 vertical heat-sealing machine each offer automated, integrated systems for fast and accurate processing.
The Noack T4 is comprised of the compact Noack N930 blister-packaging machine and the Promatic PC4000 series cartoner. Integrating the QuickFeed, QuickAdjust and QuickTransfer systems, the blister-packaging line is designed for production of small and medium batch sizes. The QuickFeed unit features an air-cushion adjustment system that allows products to be changed within seconds by completely detaching the product feed for cleaning, while production continues seamlessly with a second feed unit. The servo-controlled QuickAdjust control system automatically moves production to the sealing, coding, perforating and punching stations. Determining the exact position of the blister, a laser-light barrier automatically moves the station to the optimal position. The four-track QuickTransfer blister-transfer station arranges blister layouts in either longitudinal- or cross-positions before they are fed to the stacking system.
Blisters are then transferred to the Promatic PC4000 series cartoner at a maximum rate of 400 blisters/min. The servo-driven, double-positive, carton-opening system continuously handles products gently, yet efficiently. The installation can be equipped with plate or roller sealing. The integration of the Noack T4 and Promatic PC4000 systems allows for a flexible process, yet ensures a high degree of product security and productivity.
Also on display will be the Macofar VF24 aseptic liquid filler, which is designed for use with liquid or lyophilized pharmaceutical products. It features a slim design as well as a trough wall installation that separates the aseptic production area from the technical area. The unit fulfils the stringent GMP requirements for aseptic production processes in “Grade A”-class clean rooms.
Equipped with servo motors for accurate processing, the medium-speed MacofarVF24 offers an output of 24,000 vials/h. The integrated weighing stations weigh the vials both before and after filling. The control unit automatically adjusts the filling volume, if necessary. To ensure proper containment of the system, the machine is available with Isolator Technology, Restricted Access Barrier Systems (RABS) and Laminar Flow. Changeover of vials can be achieved semi-automatically for increased product safety.
The Siebler HM 1/230 vertical heat-sealing machine serves the strip-packaging sector, sealing individual doses of hospital pharmaceuticals, drug samples and other single-dosage medications. The heat-sealing process welds single-pharmaceutical products, such as tablets, dragees, capsules and effervescent tablets, into foil packages.
The medication is processed at speeds of up to 5,000 cycles/min, with products fed into the machine on up to 16 foil strips and packaged simultaneously. Foil widths are available up to 750 mm. At the end of the heat-sealing process, the foil is cut precisely to size, and then stacked in finished product units. Sealing pressure, sealing speed and temperature are individually adjustable and reproducible.
