New screw conveyor offers flexibility and easy maintenance

| By Mary Page Bailey

The Helix flexible screw conveyor (photo) features a helicoid screw that rotates within a fixed tube to transport materials efficiently from one point to another. It supports horizontal conveying up to 80 ft and vertical discharge heights of up to 40 ft, making it adaptable to various plant layouts and space constraints. Available in diameters ranging from 2.5 to 8 in., and with capacities from 15 to 1,800 ft³/h, the Helix model is suitable for many material-transfer applications, including bulk-material transport and precise batching and blending, effectively accommodating powders, granules and irregularly shaped materials. This conveyor offers a variety of customizable options, including multiple auger types designed for different material characteristics, such as sticky substances, fine powders and heavy, abrasive materials. Additionally, the tool-free casing removal feature facilitates quick maintenance, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. — Hapman, Kalamazoo, Mich.
