New humidity sensors bring ultra-high accuracy

| By Mary Page Bailey

This company is launching two new versions of its SHT4x series of humidity sensors (photo). The ultra-high accuracy SHT41 and SHT45 versions are equipped with this company’s brand-new and optimized CMOSens chip that offers ultra-low power consumption. The CMOSens technology provides a complete sensor system on a single chip, with a fully calibrated digital I2C fast-mode interface. The sensors cover operating ranges from 0 to 100% relative humidity (RH) and temperatures from –40 to 125ºC, with typical accuracies that have been honed down to ∆RH =±1% RH and ∆T =±0.1°C. The sensors are very compact and come with a robust housing that enable installation in aggressive environments. — Sensiron AG, Stäfa, Switzerland
