New enhancements to SciFinder

| By Chemical Engineering

SciFinder, a digital database and analysis technology for chemistry-related research, has been enhanced to improve the evaluation of reaction answer sets and to allow easier collaboration with other SciFinder users. Researchers can now group reactions in answer sets according to more than 500 commonly known reaction types, such as the reduction of nitro compounds to amines. This feature will help in quickly examining the diversity of a large set of reactions, the developer says, adding that the grouping method makes synthetic options apparent more quickly. SciFinder will also be updated with nearly 200,000 additional experimental NMR spectra in the near future. — Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a division of the American Chemical Society, Columbus, Ohio
