This new generation of pulverizers for plastics features two grooved grinding discs that work opposite to each other, and the shape of the grooves is responsible for the fineness and the throughput of the final product. With the new disc design, a greater fineness and throughput is achieved. The first machine with the new design is the PU 650, with disc dia. of 650 mm and a 75- or 90-kW drive motor. A throughput of up to 800 kg/h is possible with polyethylene, and up to 1,200 kg/h for polyvinylchloride. — Herbold Meckesheim GmbH, Meckesheim, Germany
