Mix with three independently driven agitators

| By Chemical Engineering

Charles Ross & Son

The VersaMix has three agitators working in tandem, each driven separately. The equipment features a high-speed disperser that quickly draws powders into the liquid batch through a powerful vortex. Depending on the nature of the products being mixed, the rotor/stator can break down agglomerates, accelerate homogenization, or prepare fine droplets in an emulsion. A low-speed anchor promotes bulk flow and uniform batch temperature, while scraping the vessel sidewalls and bottom. VersaMix models are available in a variety of sizes from 1 to 4,000 gal capacity, and with a number of options, such as clean-in-place spray nozzles, temperature probes and interchangeable jacketed mix vessels. — Charles Ross & Son Co., Hauppauge, N.Y.
