Metso Corp. (Helsinki, Finland; www.metso.com) was awarded a service contract by Qatar Shell supporting an earlier delivery of valves and intelligent positioners to the Pearl Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) Project in Ras Laffan Industrial City. Jointly developed by Qatar Petroleum and Shell, Pearl GTL is the largest GTL plant in the world and the largest energy project in the state of Qatar. As part of the capital project, Metso delivered more than 2,500 valves and 1,200 positioners.
