Mann+Hummel takes full ownership of membrane manufacturer Microdyn-Nadir

| By Mary Bailey

Microdyn-Nadir GmbH (Wiesbaden, Germany; www.microdyn-nadir.de), a membrane and module manufacturer, is now a 100% subsidiary of the filtration specialist Mann+Hummel GmbH (Ludwigsburg, Germany; www.mann-hummel.com). Through the acquisition, both companies consequently follow their joint strategy to grow the water filtration business.

With this transaction, Mann+Hummel increases its stake in Microdyn-Nadir from 50 to 100%. Mann+Hummel had already acquired 50% of the shares in Microdyn-Nadir in May 2014.

Minimal overlap of the product ranges, as well as the different geographical market, presence result in a perfect complement of the two companies for each other.

Microdyn-Nadir focuses on the production and distribution of flat sheet membranes, and is a global supplier of membranes and modules for the micro-, ultra- and nanofiltration. Mann+Hummel is a global leading expert for filtration solutions, as well as development partner and supplier to the international automobile and manufacturing industries. In the water filtration sector, Mann+Hummel has recently been focusing on the production of polymer-based hollow-fiber membranes.

Besides its own production sites in Wiesbaden and Xiamen (China), Microdyn-Nadir now has another manufacturing base in Singapore, and is present with sales offices in Raleigh, N.C. in the U.S., and Jundiaí, Brazil.
