‘Smart glasses’ allow users to support their machines
Remote Assist (photo) is an innovative service concept that uses Internet-enabled “smart glasses” to enable the company’s hotline technicians to support its machines in realtime. The technology enables virtual communication between machine operators and service technicians via a wi-fi interface. Users who require assistance to operate their equipment, deal with fault conditions and so on can now get virtual support from this company. A camera integrated to the glasses transfers its perspective of the machine directly to the company technician’s monitor, allowing the remote support team to respond accordingly. The glasses are also equipped with a microphone and headphones for audio communication with support personnel at the company. — The Romaco Group, Karlsruhe, Germany
