Less Calibration is Needed with this Hydrogen Sulfide Sensor

| By Chemical Engineering

Typically, H 2 S gas sensors require calibration every 90 days — a period that is effectively doubled by the new Sierra Monitor 5100-05-IT (photo), which reportedly lasts six months between calibrations. A stand-alone module, the device comes with an optional remote sensor that can be as far as 100 ft from the transmitter, 4 – 20-mA output, a RS-485 Modbus interface, a SentryBus interface and an integral scrolling LED with magnet operated menu. 316 stainless-steel enclosure options are available. — Sierra Monitor Corp., Milpitas, Calif.
