The CubeShade is a large, cube-shaped sunshade for process instrumentation that shields equipment, such as electronic monitoring systems, explosion-proof junction boxes or analyzer installations, from solar radiation. The CubeShade’s protective cover measures 600 × 550 × 500 mm, providing a large shaded environment that can accommodate and protect large or multiple instruments, as well as simplifying maintenance access. The CubeShade is constructed entirely from glass-fiber reinforced, sheet-molding compound (SMC). The material’s advantages include a high resistance to UV light and corrosion from salt and common petrochemicals, as well as a low thermal conductivity, which helps to prevent the transfer of heat-generating solar radiation into the shaded area. — Intertec Instrumentation Ltd., Sarnia, Ont., Canada
