KE-Burgmann acquires Expansion Joint Systems

| By Scott Jenkins

KE-Burgmann (Vejen, Denmark; www.ke-burgmann.com) has acquired full ownership of Expansion Joint Systems Inc. (EJS; Santee, Calif.; www.ejsus.com). With the acquisition, announced Aug. 1, EJS will take on the name KE-Burgmann EJS. The California company manufactures highly engineered, metal expansion joints for the oil and gas, and petrochemical refining industries, especially for styrene processing, fluid catalytic cracking and continuous catalytic cracking units. KE-Burgmann, a subsidiary of the EagleBurgmann Group, produces fabric, metal and rubber expansion joints. The new entity will operate with EJS founder Neville Barber as general manager. Established in 1984, EJS commands an estimated 35% market share in the U.S. and Canada, according to KE-Burgmann.
