KBR (Houston; www.kbr.com) announced today that it was awarded a contract from Petrobras (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; www.petrobras.com) to provide licensing, engineering and technical consulting services for the development of an ammonia plant in Tres Lagoas, Brazil.
KBR will license its Purifier Process ammonia technology for the anticipated 2,200 metric ton/d plant. KBR will provide basic engineering services not only for the ammonia plant, but also for planned urea and urea granulation plants and related offsite utility units. Under the contract, KBR will provide technical consulting services through the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the project.
