Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (Pasadena, Calif.; www.jacobs.com) has received a contract from Ineos Oligomers to design and build a large linear alpha olefin (LAO) unit at the Ineos petrochemical complex in Chocolate Bayou, Texas. The LAO unit is expected to come online in November 2018, with a production capacity of 420,000 metric tons per year.
Jacobs is providing engineering, procurement and construction services for the new unit, which is based on proprietary and differentiated Ineos Oligomers technology.
