Specialty-chemical producer Clariant (Muttenz, Switzerland; www.clariant.com) has appointed Dr. Hans-Joachim Müller member of the executive committee. He will join the company on July 1, 2011 and will be responsible for the two business units: Catalysis & Energy and Functional Materials. Müller joins Clariant from Süd-Chemie AG, where he was a member of the managing board. Earlier, he was head of the global business unit Catalytic Technologies at Süd-Chemie. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich, Germany.
