| By Scott Jenkins

The Global Chemical Production Regional Index (Global CPRI) rose by 0.4% in November on a three-month-moving-average (3MMA) basis, according to the latest Weekly Chemistry and Economic Report from the American Chemistry Council (ACC; Washington, D.C.; www.americanchemistry.com).

Meanwhile, the ACC’s final weekly report of the year also said that the U.S. CPRI rose by 0.3% in November, following flat growth in October and a 0.2% decline in September. All geographic regions posted production growth in November, the report said.

Globally, chemical production rose in North America, Central & Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, the ACC report said, but growth was off in Latin America and was flat in Western Europe.

The Global CPRI was up 3.2% compared to a year ago at the same time (on a 3MMA basis), the ACC report said.
