New shovel design helps to reduce mixer torque

The Ploughshare Mixer features the patented High-Efficiency Shovel (HES; photo, p. 33) whose innovative design includes an opening that results in a significant (approximately 40%) reduction in starting torque and a reduction in idle power requirements, according to the manufacturer.
