These safety helmets are made from recycled material
This company’s Primero, Zenith X and Superplasma series of protective safety helmets now include an internal shell (photo) made from expandable polystyrene (EPS) granules from pyrolysis oil derived from post-consumer waste materials. The helmets use Neopor® Ccycled® sustainable EPS, developed by BASF. Fossil feedstocks for the EPS are replaced by pyrolysis oil obtained from recycled post-consumer plastic waste through chemical recycling. The Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) is reduced by approximately 90% compared to conventional Neopor, according to BASF. The helmets feature the same high quality and safety performance and an improved product carbon footprint in comparison to using conventional EPS. — Kask S.p.a., Chiuduno, Italy
