Control the concentration of parts-cleaning fluids
Designed to ensure the right fluid concentration for tool cleaning and cooling systems, the HydroFlow Mechanical Concentrate Mixers (photo) ensure that the concentration of the cleaning solution is neither too lean (which can lead to rust formation and shortened tool life) nor too rich (which will waste costly coolant concentrate, or may negatively affect the cooling ability of the metalworking fluid). Two versions are available. The Drum Top Mixer is a compact venturi mixer for combining water with coolant concentrates. Water jetting through the unit creates a vacuum that siphons concentrate from the supply drum. A needle valve allows for precise adjustments across the desired mixture range. Such models are available in 3-, 10- and 25-gal/min versions. Meanwhile, the company’s Proportioner is designed to give users even more control for accurate, automatic mixing. The water-driven, positive-displacement unit dispenses coolant on demand at the desired concentration. Average flow is 5 gal/min. Special units are available for highly alkaline parts-washing fluids. — Eriez, Erie, Pa.
