Integral baghouse helps this dryer to contain fine particles

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This vibrating fluidized-bed dryer (photo) has an integral baghouse for dust collection that is positioned directly above the fluidized-bed drying zone. This configuration allows 100% of the fine particles (below 250µm) entrained in the airstream to be contained in the drying system as product, rather than being collected and removed as waste, says the manufacturer. The space-saving system is designed for closed-cycle drying applications that require a nitrogen purge or solvent recovery. — The Witte Co., Washington, N.J.
