Small-footprint cyclone competes with larger units
The Dust Hound Dust Collector is about half the size of a standard cyclone for the same efficiency and airflow, so it more easily fits in the available spaces without costly facility and process-line renovations, says the company. It can be used for point-of-use product recovery, in pneumatic conveying systems, and as a pre-filter for other dust-handling equipment, such as cartridge collectors, baghouses, electrostatic precipitators and wet scrubbers. When used as a pre-filter, a cyclone can increase filter life, minimize compressed-air use and reduce filter maintenance. The Dust Hound cyclone uses a specially shaped ground plate to divert solids toward the walls and interrupt airflow, creating a very localized pressure drop that causes more particulate matter to fall out of the airstream and reduce dust re-entrainment.
