Dual-drive centrifugal sifter has an integral feeder
Kason
The model MOB-DD-SS dual-drive Centri-Sifter (photo) is a centrifugal sifter with a variable-feed screw that feeds bulk solids into a horizontal screen cylinder at a controlled rate without the need for a separate feeding device. The rotation speed of the helical paddles, which never touch the screen, can be adjusted to accelerate material against and through apertures in the screen cylinder at speeds that are sufficient to break down agglomerates and achieve the desired throughput capacity. A fail-safe interlock system with multiple, non-interchangeable keys prevents inadvertent operation of the electrical system when the hinged end cover, screen access door or feed screw access plate is open. The unit can sift dry or moist chemical, mineral, food, dairy or pharmaceutical products, including those containing soft agglomerates, at rates to 30 ton/h. It is available in several models, with material contact surfaces of 304 or 316 stainless steel, or in an all-stainless steel finish that is suitable for use in sanitary applications. Its explosion-proof electrical system is ATEX-compliant, says the company. — Kason Corp., Millburn, N.J.
