This unit converts slurries to pastes, powders or flakes

Readco Kurimoto

The new continuous SC Processors (SCP; photo) deliver efficient heat transfer in a novel, compact design that helps to transform slurries into powders and increase the viscosity of slurries in a single step, says the manufacturer. Continuously accepting a wide range of liquids, slurries, powders and wet cake, the SCP is capable of drying, cooling, degassing, crystallizing, chemically reacting, solvent recovery and other processes in uninterrupted 24/7 operation. The SCP line uses counter-rotating, hollow, twin-screw shards inside an ASME-rated, jacketed barrel, and circulates a heating or cooling medium via the sealed shafts to maximize heat transfer and enable precise temperature control. Operating under vacuum conditions to reduce the boiling point of any liquids present, the proprietary design promotes peak energy-efficiency and safeguards temperature-sensitive materials from excessive heat history while automatically evacuating moisture. Four models are available. — Readco Kurimoto LLC, York, Pa.
