This fluegas analyzer can handle high particulate matter
The WDG-V Blowback (photo) is the latest addition to this company’s WDG-V Series fluegas analyzers. It is designed for high-particulate matter applications. The device provides efficient blowback cleaning of the sample probe and filter from an integrated, direct-mounted enclosure. It has an integrated sample-collection system, and is designed for combustion optimization in power and steam boilers firing coal, wood waste and heavy-oil, even for applications that have particulate matter loadings of up to 30 mg/m3. Using an existing AMEVision human-machine interface, operators can automate the blowback process on a timed basis or at a low-flow threshold (for example, at 40% flow), or both, or perform it manually. An integrated enclosure means that the analyzer does not need heated sample lines, thereby minimizing installation time and simplifying air and power lines to single connections. To further reduce maintenance time, the enclosure is designed to allow users to service both the sample probe and filter without removing the analyzer from the process flange. — Ametek Process Instruments, Pittsburgh, Pa.
