Fully automated instrument reduces operator involvement
The ISL OptiFPP (photo) is the most recent addition to this company’s Opti-Cold Series platform. This improved Cold Filter Plugging Point (FPP) analyzer allows for the automatic determination of the cold-filter plugging point of petroleum products, in accordance with the international standard test methods EN116 and EN16329. The new OptiFPP has a smart head that contains the electrical connections for the detector and a mechanical vacuum connection to the pipette. Cable-free and tube-free smart heads make setup and breakdown fast and easy, says the company. The device has a user-friendly interface on a 7-in. color touchscreen, which allows operators to start a test with just the touch of a button and view a realtime graphic display of the test, improving laboratory productivity, says the company. — PAC, Houston
