Eurotecnica (Milan, Italy), the technology arm of the Proman family of companies, a global leader in natural gas derived products and services, announced a contract award from Xinji Energy Chemical Co. Ltd. for the implementation of the largest high-pressure melamine plant in the world with a production capacity of 120,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr).

Xinji Energy Chemical Co.Ltd. has selected Eurotecnica’s ultimate 5th generation (G5) proprietary Euromel technology for the design and implementation of this landmark project, which lifts the total licensed nameplate capacity to more than 1 million m.t./yr and 26 plants worldwide.

Xinjiang Xuefeng, the group Xinji belongs to, is already the largest melamine producer in the world, and has chosen Eurotecnica’s Euromel because it features the low energy consumption and requires no catalyst, no added chemicals and no effluents to be treated.

Proman is the world’s second largest methanol producer, and a leading producer of anhydrous ammonia, urea ammonium nitrate and melamine, with production facilities in Trinidad and Tobago, the US and Oman and ongoing expansion into Mexico, Canada and the UAE.
