No manufacturer can calibrate flowmeters more accurately than Endress+Hauser (E+H) Flowtec AG (Reinach, Switzerland; www.endress.com): the company’s new calibration facility sets standards worldwide, the manufacturer claims. “It puts us in a position to satisfy even the highest customer requirements without any compromise whatsoever,” said CEO Dr. Gerhard Jost at the ceremony marking the opening of the new facility on Wednesday, 27 February 2008.
Uniformly high product quality is one of the most important goals set by E+H. In meeting these objectives the private family-owned company is prepared to invest significant sums in its production facilities. The flowmeter calibration facility in Reinach has the backing of a 22-strong team of highly qualified engineers, technicians and designers. They channeled the 30-plus years of experience amassed by E+H Flowtec into this project.
The new calibration facility produces measurements that deviate no more than ±0.015% from the reference value. Thirty influencing variables in all were taken into account in order to achieve the excellent performance of this facility. A regimen of constant checks and controls ensures that the high requirements on calibration accuracy are reliably satisfied.
“The new facility enables the Promass F Coriolis flowmeters we manufacture in Reinach to be calibrated accurately to the specified figure of ±0.05%”, explains Jost. “That represents the very best in the international league.” Accuracy of this nature enables the company to cope with increasingly stringent customer requirements in future-oriented sectors such as life sciences, chemicals, foodstuffs and petrochemicals. “As well as performing reliably, our flowmeters must present certification for their high measuring accuracy”, emphasized Jost.
Customers throughout the world benefit in a number of ways: they can dependably measure and process costly raw materials and intermediate products, comply with what are often extremely strict quality specifications, and implement optimum process automation to minimize their costs. This is particularly important for custody transfer applications, for example fuel loading.
As an international player, E+H operates in accordance with internationally accepted standards for the accreditation of its products and test methods. All E+H’s flow calibration facilities are accredited by widely different national authorities – including for example SAS, A2LA and CNAS – in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. Since all test resources are seamlessly traceable back to national standards, customers can invariably look to E+H to provide the same uniformly high standard of quality, be it in product quality or in field testing of their process facilities.
