Using its proprietary EcoBase synthetic media, this firm has developed a line of odor control products (photo) that remove both organic and inorganic odorous compounds from the airstreams of industrial wastewater-treatment plant. Units are available for covering airstreams from 100 to 100,000 ft3/min. The EcoBase media provides a uniform airflow distribution, optimized mass transfer of odor compounds, and a controlled microenvironment that enables the growth and proliferation of odor-removing bacteria. The EcoBase media has been demonstrated to remove 98% of all odors, including more than 99.9% removal of hydrogen sulfide without the use of chemical scrubbers or carbon adsorbers.
