The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF; Philadelphia, Pa.; www.chemheritage.org) has named Kathryn Humphreys vice president of development. Humphreys comes to CHF from Cornell University, where she provided leadership and direction for fundraising, alumni programs, donor relations, and stewardship in the College of Arts and Sciences as part of the “Cornell Now” campaign.
“CHF enjoys a wide range of support from individual, corporate, and institutional donors,” said Carsten Reinhardt, president and CEO. “Kathryn brings a depth of experience in all aspects of development that will allow her to lead our efforts to grow and thrive.”
As a key member of the senior leadership team, she will focus on maintaining CHF’s significant individual and institutional relationships while strategically developing new opportunities for both short- and long- term funding.
Humphreys’ development experience spans institutional and individual major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, and international fundraising.
Humphreys received an AB from Princeton University and a PhD in English and American literature from Cornell University. She began her career as an assistant professor at Barnard College before entering development work, serving at Bowdoin College, Princeton University, and Lehigh University prior to joining Cornell as associate dean for alumni affairs and development in the College of Arts and Sciences.
