PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP; Jakarta, Indonesia; www.chandra-asri.com), through its subsidiary PT Petrokimia Butadiene Indonesia (PBI), has completed its production expansion project. After beginning shutdown and tie-in activities in March 2018, the butadiene plant is now fully operational at its new, expanded capacity of 137,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr), representing an increase of 37% from the previous 100,000-m.t./yr capacity.
In addition, CAP is also working to complete a new polyethylene (PE) plant with a capacity of 400,000 m.t./yr, which has now reached over 50% completion after its groundbreaking in February 2018. The new facility will produce high-density PE, linear low-density PE and metallocene LLDPE.
