Chandra Asri awards EPC contract to Toyo for butadiene expansion project

PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP; Jakarta, Indonesia; www.chandra-asri.com) through its subsidiary, PT Petrokimia Butadiene Indonesia (PBI),  has awarded a engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contract to Toyo Engineering Korea Limited (Toyo-Korea) and PT Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT) for CAP’s butadiene expansion project. Project completion and plant startup is expected in the third quarter of 2018. The expansion will increase butadiene production capacity by 37%. Previously, PBI has also signed agreement with Lummus Technology Inc for the license and engineering design of BASF/Butadiene Extraction technology for expansion of butadiene production at its integrated Naphtha Cracker complex in Cilegon, Banten.
