Bayer (www.bayer.com) has launched an integrated, group-wide "Bayer Climate Program," with which it plans to further reduce CO2 emissions from its production facilities while developing new solutions for increasing climate protection and dealing with climate change. In the climate protection program, which is based on the new "Bayer Policy on Climate Change," Bayer will take advantage of its expertise as an inventor company. Over the next three years, Bayer will invest €1 billion in climate-related research and development and other projects.
Solutions will focus on buildings, crop growing, biofuels and production. Bayer has also set new emissions targets to achieve by the year 2020, including a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions per ton of sales product by 25 percent in the MaterialScience subgroup.
More information on this new program can be found at the Bayer Climate Program Website (www.climate.bayer.com).
