ASD Global Inc. (Walnut Creek, Calif.; www.asdglobalinc.com) has joined Intergraph Corp. (Huntsville, Ala.; www.intergraph.com) in Intergraph’s SmartPlant Alliance as an Alliance Technology Partner, interfacing ASD’s software with Intergraph Smart 3D next-generation 3D design software. This partnership provides an integrated solution to reduce costs and increase productivity for global owner/operators, as well as engineering, procurement and construction companies (EPCs) in the process, offshore, shipbuilding, and metals and mining industries.
ASD Global will develop interfaces between Smart 3D and all its engineering automation software products, including OptiPlant, Pipe Router, and Pipe Support Optimizer.
OptiPlant enables Owner/Operators, as well as the EPC firms who design and construct the facilities, to significantly improve their productivity on large capital projects; reducing overall design, engineering, and construction costs; bringing those projects in on-time and under budget. OptiPlant enables customers to also “design in” the lowest overall lifecycle operating costs, by being able to “see” very early in the engineering and design phase what those costs will be, and to manage them from the beginning of a project.
As an Intergraph SmartPlant Alliance Technology Partner, Smart 3D users will be able to leverage OptiPlant’s unique capabilities at much earlier stages in their projects, gaining cost and schedule estimates much earlier, with much more accuracy than ever before; and then interface the resulting models and database directly into Smart 3D for the detailed design and construction phases of the project. Not only is project execution significantly improved, but the optimized results also translate into improved productivity for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the completed or upgraded facility.
