Asahi Songwon Colors Ltd. (Gujarat, India) commenced commercial operations at the Dahej, India plant operated by its joint venture with Tennants Textile Colours Ltd., Asahi Tennants Color.
The Dahej plant will produce red and yellow pigments. The installed capacity at the site is 2,400 metric tons per year (m.t./yr). Final commissioning of the facility is expected in March 2021. The investment in the plant was 82 crore (around $11 million).
Mr. Arjun Jaykrishna, Executive Director, Asahi Songwon Colors, said that the company is working toward full capacity utilization at the plant, and also aims to double production capacity by 2022.
