AODD pumps now feature a conductive PTFE diaphragm

| By Chemical Engineering

This company’s E-Series Plastic AODD (air-operated double-diaphragm) pumps have been upgraded with electrically conductive polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) diaphragms (photo) to provide safer transfer of chemicals while avoiding electrostatic discharge. As a result, E-Series pumps equipped with conductive PTFE diaphragms can be used without risk in applications found in explosion-proof areas that involve flammable liquids, says the company. In addition to the safety features, the diaphragms have a large diameter and short stroke with low flexural loads that ensure uniform delivery. — Almatec Maschinenbau GmbH, Kamp-Linfort, Germany
