This company has combined inline mixing with its granulation technology to help fertilizer producers add value to their products. Production begins with accurate dosing and weighing of the materials to be combined, followed by mixing and, if necessary, grinding. The resulting mixture is then fed in molten form to the company’s Rotoform system. There it is deposited onto a continuous, steel cooling belt to be cooled as droplets. The speed of the Rotoform drop depositor is synchronized with the speed of the belt to create hemispherical pastilles of uniform size and shape. A single line delivers throughputs of up to 150 m.t./d, depending on the product, says the company. This makes it suitable for the production of specialty products, such as enhanced fertilizers that blend sulfur and AS with urea. — Sandvik Process Systems, Fellbach, Germany
